What Could be Sweeter?

What Could be Sweeter? was the Halloween tract theme we passed out at the Brush’s Trick-O-Treat street. The beautiful weather brought out a large crowd. We handed out 1,080 tracts and 800 Christian-themed stickers, which was more than last year!

Fall Quizzing

The juniors had their fall quiz in October! It’s such a blessing to hear the little guys quote their verses. Our oldest foster child participated in quizzing and scored in every quiz, unlocking a team bonus! The Firelighters team from Fort Morgan/Wiggins area won!

The varsity quizzers had two meets this fall. The level of competition continues to remain high as students learn large numbers of verses. Fishsticks placed 5th in October and 2nd in November. In November, Xander from our team completed a perfect day—eight perfect quiz outs with no errors!

Underground Church

Underground church is a role playing game where Christianity is illegal. In our fictional country of Asrtana, only 15% of the population is Christian. Their goal is to convert the entire county. It’s amazing to watch the exponential growth as more citizens are converted. This year, we focused on worldview and competing messages:

Astrana — you are naturally good. Gospel—Only God is good, you are naturally evil.
Astrana—you are supreme. Gospel—God is supreme.
Astrana — save yourself by removing hinderances. Gospel — Only Jesus can save you.

Some of my favorite moments from the game included Joel converting half the jail while imprisoned, kids removing the Astrana flag from their shoulder when they became Christian, the epic transition music, the new Astrana flag displayed in the dining hall, and Silas using another book cover to hide his Bible.
